We are approaching my favorite time of year which is that sweet spot in-between summer and fall. I love when the weather is hot enough during the day to hang by the pool and then chilly enough in the evening to snuggle up by a bonfire. The only bummer in my opinion about this time of year if that it can be hard to know what to wear with the unpredictable and ever-changing weather. If you are like me you are not quite ready to pack away your summer skirts and dresses, which is why I love using them as a great transition piece from summer to fall. Below I’m breaking down how to wear one skirt or dress in three different ways to help you transition into the cooler season ahead.
Pair your favorite summer skirt or dress during late summer with a knotted T-shirt and some slip-on sandals. I love the look of a graphic tee layered over a maxi/midi floral skirt or dress. Check out this cute sage green maxi tiered skirt here. This casual look would be perfect for a Labor Day Weekend get together or an afternoon picnic.
This look is probably my favorite out of the three because nothing makes me more excited for fall than getting to wear chunky knit sweaters (and apple cider donuts). I also think some simple sneakers like these staples of mine add an extra layer of comfort to this look for a chilly fall day.
When fall feels like it’s in full swing, style your favorite summer skirt or dress with some cute booties, a knotted tee, a denim jacket, and a felt hat. This layered, cozy look is so feminine and would be perfect for a chilly fall day visiting an apple orchard or friends-giving celebration.
Are you excited for fall yet? I hope this post helped you rethink how you can repurpose some of your favorite summer skirts and dresses in the fall season ahead. It’s important to me that the clothing I purchase is versatile to make sure I get a lot of use out of it which is why I love midi skirts and dresses like the one featured in this post as well as the others I linked below.
