There are several reasons you may have found yourself in this situation. Maybe you no longer like the style of clothing you own or maybe you’ve made too many impulse buys on items that don’t go with anything else you own. Another reason could be that you own too many bold patterned statement pieces and not enough neutral basics.

This is why creating a capsule wardrobe is so helpful for getting great use out of the clothing you already own and continue to add to your wardrobe. Having a core, versatile wardrobe of high-quality basics will help you mix and match to create an endless amount of stylish outfits without having to own tons of clothing. I am so excited to share with you my capsule wardrobe for the fall of 2020.

One thing I love about my fall capsule is that I still have some colorful and patterned items. Having a limited wardrobe doesn’t mean that everything has to be white, black, and grey. The key to incorporating color and pattern is to keep it subtle, opting for more earthy tones and natural, small patterns. If you are creating a seasonal capsule wardrobe like I am here for the fall, it can be fun to play off of the colors of that season. I was inspired by the warm colors of fall to add pieces with hints of green, brown, orange, and even a rusty red.

One advantage of a capsule wardrobe is that it simplifies your choices when putting outfits together. Although you have fewer items to choose from, your options are no longer limited since each piece is interchangeable with several other pieces. Another perk of a capsule wardrobe is that you will stop spending money on many cheap, fast fashion items and be able to intentionally invest in fewer, high-quality pieces that will have more longevity in your wardrobe for years to come.
