MARCH REFLECTION 2020

I don’t even know where to begin about this month, it’s been unlike any other for sure! The COVID-19 outbreak has impacted everyone this month and more recently made a large change of lifestyle here in the U.S. That being said, this monthly reflection will look a little different than past months. The beginning of the month was fairly normal as the awareness of the virus was growing but it had yet to have a strong effect many of us here in the U.S. That changed very quickly as the month progressed and the virus started to spread rapidly here.

I, along with many others who are able to, started working from home just over two weeks ago. I have a post on my tips for working and staying at home that you can check out here. So far, I really enjoy being able to work from home. I of course miss seeing my friends and family, having the option to travel and spend time in public places. I will for now on be more grateful than ever for those opportunities once things get back to normal. I am so thankful that I have the ability to stay home as much as possible to keep myself and others safe. I am also so thankful for all essential workers who are working on the front lines against this virus.

The situation still feels surreal and may take longer than we’d like for things to start looking up. I’m having to rethink all of my upcoming content for this blog and my Instagram account. My apartment is very vanilla and everything still looks dead outside here in Michigan so I definitely feel limited. That being said I want to push myself to get creative, try new things and still create valuable content during this time. So on that note, here’s a little insight into what I’ve been up to…

What I bought

  • Grey sweatshirt – I’m not usually one to love the holes in a shirt look but the color and fit of this sweatshirt won me over.

  • Ribbed bikini top and bottoms – I find that the cut of this suit is the most flattering on me and I really love the color!

  • Black everyone leggings – I love the high waisted cut of these leggings and the thin but high-quality material. There are compared to Lululemon leggings but half the price.

  • Cozy fleece sweatshirt – this sweatshirt is made from recycled water-bottles and it so cozy!

  • White cotton shorts – These shorts are the perfect length in my opinion and they are nice and thick.

  • iPad – This is something I’ve been saving up for and mainly wanted it to learn the application procreate. I’m loving it so far!

  • Apple pencil – I also go this to go with the iPad since it makes a huge difference in accuracy while using procreate.

Where I ate

Jolly Pumpkin – One of our favorite restaurants downtown Ann Arbor. We got curbside pickup to enjoy some of our favorite local pizza.

Ama Bistro– this is another local favorite that we got curbside breakfast from one day.

What I watched

• This is us – the season finally was this month and I already can’t wait for the next one to get to know all the new characters that were previewed.

  • TikTok’s – this is the month I finally got into this app and love mindlessly scrolling for a few minutes each evening on it.

  • Modern Love – this is the CUTEST series on Amazon Prime that shows a variety of feel-good stories and how people from different stories cross paths.

What I listened to

  • Death Bed by Powfu – speaking of TikTok, this song seems to be very trendy on there and has become a favorite of mine.

What I accomplished

I started practicing hand letting both on paper and my iPad. This is a skill I have admired for a long time and am excited to be challenging myself to practice it.

One thing I am thankful for

I’m thankful that I’m the type of person that doesn’t go crazy by spending extended periods of time at home and without much social interaction. I know some people are really struggling with this right now so I’m grateful that I’m able to remain pretty sane and productive at home. I’m also thankful that my husband and I can spend tons of time together without driving the other crazy as well. :p

That’s all for this month. I hope you are all staying healthy and safe and doing your part to flatten the curve of this pandemic. If you are bored or in the mood to keep reading, check out some other blog posts of mine below.
