SEPTEMBER REFLECTION

September is such a great month! It’s this beautiful merge of summer and fall (my two favorite seasons) with almost perfect weather here in Michigan. I am no longer a student (thank God), I still feel energized and ambitious during this time of year and feel it’s a great time to try something new. On that note, starting this month I am going to do monthly reviews on here summarizing what I have been up to, places I visited, things I have been loving, etc. So, if that sounds interesting to you, keep on reading…

WHERE I WENT

St. Lucia – we woke up on September 1 st on this beautiful island ready to enjoy the last few days of our honeymoon. September has been our first month of marriage and I couldn’t feel more grateful. The transition from honeymoon back to our normal routine was obviously hard since our honeymoon was so great and because I believe with my whole heart that I am the best version of myself when I am laying on a beach with a mimosa in my hand. 😉 However, we did have the luxury of not having to move, learn how to live together for the first time or make a million life changes right after our honeymoon like many couples I know. Perks of living together before marriage in my opinion. We got to just come home to our dog, enjoy calling each other husband and wife, and go back to our normal routine which was nice.

WHAT I BOUGHT

Ivory V-Neck Madewell Sweater – I know I will wear this at least once a week until it falls apart

Madewell Denim Jacket – I haven’t owned a denim jacket since I was in 5 th grade probably. The thing that sold me to incorporating one back into my wardrobe is that this one is oversized and the perfect length on me. I’m personally not a fan of cropped jackets.

2020 Rifle Paper Co Planner – Did you know a lot planners start in August of the previous year? I love the blank slate feeling of a new planner and my previous one was looking a little rough, so I figured it’s not too early to break in a new one.

About 10 Cold Brews with Madagascar Vanilla Cream from Panera – a waste of money maybe but then again maybe not because this coffee is the best flavor, perfect amount of sweetness and a nice way to start a morning commute. Just remember to recycle the plastic cup or bring your own travel one.

WHERE I ATE

Frita Batidos – I have been wanting to try this place for years. Seriously, I don’t know why it took me so long, but I enjoyed a yummy dinner here with Nick’s family to celebrate his brother’s birthday and I already can’t wait to go back. We sat outside on the sidewalk patio so that Leo could join us. Everyone enjoyed their food and the pomegranate batido is heavenly!

Nico & Vali – I went here for the first time with my coworkers for a vendor lunch. The atmosphere is super cute, and they served the best sweet potato chips I’ve ever had.

Afternoon Delight – Nick, his parents and I go here at least once a month so expect to see this again. Everything I’ve tried on their menu is good, but my usual is the Muffin Delight. Soft serve frozen yogurt on a warm blueberry muffin, ohhhh yeeaaaahhhh!

WHAT I WATCHED

Bachelor in Paradise – I have watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette since high school with my Mom but have never fully kept up with the Paradise seasons until this one. The cast was well selected, the only person I found to be supper annoying was Cam haha

Eat Pray Love – I’ve watched this before, but it had been awhile, so I didn’t remember the full story line. As cheesy as it is, this movie really is a good reminder of what’s really important in life.

WHAT I LISTENED TO

Podcast: Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe – To further admit to my guilty pleasure of bachelor nation I also started listening to a few episodes of this podcast where Kaitlyn talks about the show and occasionally interviews members of the cast.

Song: Panini by Lil Nas X – great for in the car or the gym!

This month flew by and I’m sad to see it go, mainly because I know this beautiful weather won’t last but I am excited to jump into fall and all the cozy things that come with it. What was the highlight of your September?
