10 Ways To Celebrate Halloween

Halloween Pumpkin Patch.jpg

1. Host or attend a costume party. Starting with the obvious, most traditional way to celebrate this spooky season. Bonus points if you DIY your costume!

2. Host or attend a horror movie marathon. I’m not going to lie, this is not my thing because I am terrified for weeks after watching scary movies but if you love them, this would be a lot of fun!

3. Go for a walk to see the fall colors. If you are lucky enough like me to live in a climate where the leaves change colors, you know how quickly they come and go. Here in southern Michigan, the timing of the leaves changing color is right around Halloween.

 4. Make a festive cocktail like this Apple Cider Sangria

5. Make a themed dinner such as these Jack-o’-Lantern Stuffed Bell Peppers.

6. Carve or paint pumpkins. This craft is time-consuming but always so much fun. If you get trick-or-treaters, they will be sure to appreciate your hard work!

7. Practice face makeup. Like I mentioned earlier, who needs a full costume? Unless you are a beauty guru on YouTube, there aren’t many occasions to create a fun, characterized makeup look so use this holiday to create something fun even if you are just staying home. Here are a few ideas to inspire you.

8. Make caramel apples. This sweet treat is one of my favorites and there are so many fun ways to customize your own with fun toppings.

9. Drive around a local neighborhood to look at decorations. I feel like this is a common activity around Christmas time, but I think it would be fun to do it around Halloween as well. You might need to go when there is daylight to see more of the decorations and avoid the trick-or-treater traffic.

10. Take a cozy bath. Light some fall scented candles, maybe pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy a relaxing Halloween evening. If you are really feeling festive you could even add a Halloween-themed bath bomb.
